the idea

blissli began with a love of fragrance and a part-time job behind the perfume counter at boots. that’s where i first saw how powerful scent can be: a tiny spritz could light someone up, transport them to a memory, or become part of their daily ritual.

fast-forward a couple of decades (and a lot of candles later), and that spark never left. over time, i became more mindful of the products i was using and what they were made from. i was surprised to learn how many conventional candles are filled with ingredients that aren’t great for you or the planet. so i started experimenting at home with cleaner, kinder materials.

turns out, i didn’t just like burning candles - i loved making them. the creativity, the calm, the craft. like finally closing all the tabs on your browser and in your brain. after a long career in digital, i was ready to make something real. something that helped people slow down, breathe deep, and find joy in the everyday.

did i also decide to start a business in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis and a wobbly economy? sure did. the timing was questionable, the urge was not. logic said no, but instinct said go, so i did.

blissli is my way of blending all the things i care about: mood-lifting fragrance, beautiful design, clean ingredients, and small-batch magic. each candle is hand-poured with purpose, a pinch of joy, and a whole lot of heart. whether you light it during a guided meditation, a flicks n chill session, or your fifteenth zoom call of the day, i hope it brings a little more joy, and a little more you, to your space.

making a beautiful candle isn’t as simple as melting wax and adding a nice-smelling oil. it’s part craft, part chemistry and we take both seriously. every blissli candle goes through a careful testing process (and we mean many rounds of burn tests) to make sure it doesn’t just smell amazing, it performs beautifully too.

each oil is carefully matched to our wax blend to ensure it throws scent well both hot and cold. then we test multiple wick options to find the perfect size and shape, one that burns evenly. you know those high street candles that tunnel like they’re digging for treasure? yeah, we don’t do that. high street candles looking cute but burning ugly? we fixed that. blissli burns evenly, cleanly, and right to the edge every time.

we also test for soot so you don’t have to redecorate. our candles burn evenly, with no harsh smoke, no fuss, and no wasted wax.
