About our products
What are blissli candles made from?
Our candles are made from 100% natural soy wax - a clean-burning, renewable and biodegradable alternative to paraffin. Each 220g soy candle is hand-poured in small batches in Surrey, UK, and fragranced with carefully selected fragrance oils that are free from parabens and phthalates. The result is a longer, cleaner, more even burn.
Are blissli candles vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes - every blissli candle and wax melt is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We use plant-based soy wax and fragrance oils that contain no animal-derived ingredients and have never been tested on animals. Our packaging is also designed to be as planet-friendly as possible.
Where are blissli products made?
Every blissli candle and wax melt is handmade in Leatherhead, Surrey. We pour in small batches so each product gets the attention it deserves - no factory lines, no cutting corners.
What scents do you offer?
We currently have nine signature scents, available as both 220g soy candles and 50g wax melt snap bars. Our range includes Soft Haze (jasmine, amber & vanilla), Fresh Sheets (white lily, sandal & iris), Cosy Glow (cashmeran, amber & cedarwood), Uplifting Citrus (lemon, lime & jasmine), Luminous Veil (fig tree, white florals & coconut), Sweet Treat (buttery popcorn & brown sugar) and more. Not sure where to start? Our Scent Selection Box lets you try all nine before you commit.
What is the Scent Selection Box?
The Scent Selection Box contains all nine of our signature scents as individual wax melts- the perfect way to discover your favourite fragrance before buying a full-size candle or wax melt. Each wax melt burns for approximately two hours, and the box includes free UK delivery.
What are Super Seconds?
Super Seconds are blissli products with minor cosmetic flaws - things like a small chip to the box, a slight imperfection in the wax, or label that's not quite perfectly straight. They're still beautifully made and smell absolutely incredible, just at a minimum of 50% off. Each Super Seconds listing includes photos and details of the exact flaw so you know exactly what you're getting.
Burn times & candle care
How long do your soy candles burn?
Our 220g soy candles have a burn time of approximately 40 hours. Soy wax burns slower and cooler than paraffin, which is one of the reasons we chose it - you get more hours of fragrance from the same size candle. To get the full 40 hours, follow our candle care guide: always trim the wick before each burn and allow the wax to melt to the edges on the first burn.
How long do wax melts last?
Each 50g wax melt snap bar has a total burn time of approximately 10 hours across the whole bar. Each individual snap section gives around 2–3 hours of fragrance. The scent strength will gradually fade over time - when you can no longer smell the fragrance, it's time to replace the wax.
How do I get the best burn from my soy candle?
The most important thing is the first burn - let your candle burn until the wax has melted all the way to the edges of the jar before blowing it out. This prevents tunnelling (where the wax only melts in the middle) and ensures you get the full burn time. Always trim the wick to around 5mm before each subsequent burn, and never burn for more than four hours at a time.
Why do I need to trim the wick?
Trimming the wick to around 5mm before each burn prevents the flame from becoming too large, which can cause the candle to burn faster, produce soot, or create an uneven burn. A trimmed wick also keeps the fragrance throw consistent and makes your candle last longer. We recommend a wick trimmer for the neatest result.
What is candle tunnelling and how do I avoid it?
Tunnelling is when a candle burns straight down the middle, leaving a ring of unmelted wax around the edges of the jar. It happens when the candle is blown out before the wax pool has reached the edges - most commonly on the very first burn. To avoid it, always allow enough time on the first burn for the entire surface to become liquid. As a guide, allow roughly one hour of burn time per inch of candle diameter.
Is it safe to leave a candle burning unattended?
No - you should never leave a burning candle unattended or in an area where it could be knocked over. Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, soft furnishings, curtains and anything flammable. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too large or flickers repeatedly.
Ingredients & sustainability
Why do you use soy wax instead of paraffin?
Paraffin wax is a petroleum by-product that releases harmful chemicals when burned. Soy wax is made from soybean oil - a natural, renewable resource that burns cleaner, slower and longer. It's also biodegradable and produces significantly less soot. For us, soy wax was the obvious choice for a cleaner, more sustainable candle.
What fragrance oils do you use?
We use high-quality fragrance oils that are free from parabens and phthalates. All of our fragrances are vegan-friendly and not tested on animals. We blend each fragrance carefully to ensure a strong, true-to-scent throw that fills the room without being overwhelming.
How eco-friendly is blissli packaging?
We design our packaging to be as planet-kind as possible - our boxes are made from recycled materials and are fully recyclable. We avoid single-use plastics wherever we can. We're always looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint further, and we're transparent about where we are on that journey.
